Ingredients
- 1 pound asparagus, tough ends trimmed
- 3 slices bacon, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 ounces freshly shredded white Cheddar cheese
- salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1 lemon wedge
Directions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Step 2
Place bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain bacon slices on paper towels.
Step 3
Lightly coat a baking sheet with bacon grease. Lay asparagus evenly onto the baking sheet.
Step 4
Roast asparagus in the preheated oven for 5 minutes. Remove from the oven; squeeze juice from lemon wedge evenly onto asparagus. Sprinkle with bacon and shredded cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 5
Return to the oven, and cook until cheese is melted, about 3? minutes more.
