Air fryer Brussels sprouts without bells and whistles, just delicious sprouts with crispy brown edges and soft insides. I’ve got a 10-quart fryer; if the sprouts look crowded in your basket, make yours in two batches, putting the first cooked batch in a 170 degree F (75 degree C) oven to stay warm while you cook the second.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds Brussels sprouts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions
Step 1
Preheat an air fryer to 390 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 15 minutes.
Step 2
While the air fryer is preheating, trim Brussels sprouts. Place in a bowl with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl and mix well. Spread sprouts evenly in the air fryer basket.
Step 3
Cook in the preheated air fryer for 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cycle.

Simple and delicious! The one problem I did have or almost had was with the cooking time. I went to shake them at 8 minutes and they were pretty charred. I turned them over and went for another 2 minutes. Any longer and they would have burnt. Next time I might cut them in half to get the flavor more throughout. Overall great recipe just watch them closely so you don’t end up burning them.

How to make Brussels sprouts without smelling up the house. I loved the simplicity of this recipe. I used a Philips Viva air fryer and found that at 7 or 8 minutes they were almost burnt. I turned down the temp to 160C for another 5 minutes and they were crispy outside, tender – not mushy inside. There are many variables to consider (machine, size of vegetables, etc.), but this is definitely a fantastic way to cook Brussels sprouts! Thank you for the recipe.

Flavor was excellent for the brussels sprouts. Easy to make and literally simple too! I have a Pampered Chef Air Fryer and am glad I tried cooking these at 350F (accident as I confused this recipe with another recipe). However, my brussels sprouts took longer to cook and even after 15 min they weren’t tender enough to me on the inside and seemed to be drying out like brussels sprouts chips. Any longer and they would have been charred. I halved them out of habit though too. I think brussels sprouts are not for me using the air fryer, which is of no fault to the recipe author. Flavors were still very good following ingredient amounts as directed. Thanks for the recipe FF5!

Made the mistake of not reading the comments first before trying this recipe- DO NOT COOK AT 390 FOR 15 MINUTES. I don’t know what air fryer they were using when they wrote this, but it was either broken, or they had some enormous brussel sprouts, because this absolutely ruined our dinner- burned to a crisp and completely inedible. I’m sure that if you follow the adjustments everyone in the comments made, they’ll turn out totally fine. But until they edit this recipe, I’m rating this one star for giving instructions that will result in a literally inedible dish.

Very simple and tasty! My family in general doesn?t like crisped sprouts so I changed temp. I cooked the sprouts at 350 so they wouldn?t crisp as quickly but cooked full time. They turned out slightly browned and extremely tender. I served them and corn on the cob as sides to Teriyaki Salmon!

I made these for dinner last evening using a 12 oz. Pkg. of sprouts. I have a 4 qt. Ninja Air fryer, the perfect size for the amount of sprouts that I had. I used the 2 tbsp of oil but cut the seasonings in half, which was a mistake. The oil prevented the sprouts from drying out, but the flavor was lacking. The success of this recipe depends on the size of your sprouts and your air fryer. I had two large sprouts that I cut in half to try to keep the size uniform. Those sprouts separated in my air fryer during cooking, and the leaves were delicious. I read all the cautions about overcooking, and set my air fryer at 390 degrees for 20 minutes. I preheated it for 5 minutes, and cooked them for the full 15 minutes, checking and shaking the basket every 5 minutes, until they were fork tender. They looked beautiful, and were browned and crispy on the outside, moist and tender inside. Just not enough seasonings. The best tasting part was the loose leaves. Good recipe, and I will make these again with some adjustments to the seasonings. Beats boiling or baking.

It used my air fryer for the first time when cooking the brussels sprouts. In the past, I ate sprouts mainly because they are good for me. I liked them but they always tasted bland.
The sprouts came out crunchy and well seasoned. I believe the oil helps absorb the garlic powder, salt and pepper. I will do this again. Maybe I will experiment and add some more spices.
