This Mexican-inspired hamburger dip has just the right amount of spice and makes plenty for a crowd. Serve this cheesy dip on nacho chips with sour cream and additional jalape?os, if desired.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning
- ¼ cup water
- 1 (2 pound) loaf processed cheese food (such as Velveeta®), cut into cubes
- 2 (8 ounce) cans chopped green chilies
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon diced jalapeno peppers
Directions
Step 1
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef and onion in the hot skillet until beef is completely browned and crumbly, 7 to 10 minutes.
Step 2
Sprinkle taco seasoning over hamburger mixture. Stir in water; bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Place cheese cubes into the crock of your slow cooker; add hamburger mixture, green chiles, tomato sauce, and jalape?o peppers.
Step 4
Cover and cook on Low, stirring occasionally, until cheese is melted and smooth, about 45 minutes.
