Ingredients

  • 1 (14.1 ounce) package refrigerated pie crusts (2 pie crusts)
  • 1 (21 ounce) can apple pie filling
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar, or to taste
  • 1 serving cooking spray

Directions

Step 1
Place 1 pie crust onto a lightly floured surface and roll out the dough with a rolling pin. Using a 2-1/4-inch round biscuit or cookie cutter cut the pie crust into 10 circles. Repeat with the second pie crust for a total of 20 pie crust circles.

Step 2
Fill about 1/2 of each circle with apple pie filling. Place a second pie crust circle on top, making a mini pie. Do not overfill. Press down the edges of the mini pies, crimping with a fork to seal. Brush tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Step 3
Preheat the air fryer to 360 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Step 4
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place a batch of the mini pies in the air fryer basket, leaving space around each for air circulation.

Step 5
Bake until golden brown, 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from the basket and bake remaining pies. Serve warm or at room temperature.

7.5.19 Response to francesd@comcast.net: the egg wash will give you a golden brown crisp crust. ***7.5.19 Response to Bruce Yanoshek: I have a 2.75 qt air fryer, so it is not huge. Instructions say to use 2-1/4-inch cutter, so I can fry 3 or 4 at a time. These are mini pies, just a couple bites.

This was a very simple and sweet treat. I added more cinnamon and nutmeg to the apple filling for taste. Will be making these again but will cut and use real apples instead of the can filling for a better taste.

My husband really liked these! I put a little cinnamon/sugar on the crust, too.

WOW!! I LOVE apple pie but have never made it, nor was I going to. This sounded real yummy and looked good. Tried it tonight – I am amazed. So easy and SOOOOOO tasty. Made it exactly as written. Thank you!!!

I cooked about twice as long in my air fryer. I opened the fryer three times to spray and flip.

I made these tonight, they were very good and super easy. The only thing that I would like to say, never ever should you spray your airfryer basket with cooking spray. It ruins the coating. I put them right into my basket and they didn’t stick at all.
