This is an excellent “classic” waffle recipe!! I’ve never made waffles from scratch before, but these turned out great! The waffles aren’t anything extravagant, but if you’re looking for a basic, quality recipe this one is really nice (quick, easy, and tastes great!).

I wouldn’t say these are the best waffles but they were good and alot better than many I’ve tried to make before. I substituted 3/4 cup cream and 3/4 cup warm water for the milk and cut back on the salt and added a little more sugar. The leftover waffles froze well and tasted fine after popping it into the toaster oven.

This is a very nice waffle recipe. The directions are easy to follow and it is no trouble at all to whip up for kids on their way out the door for school. It also works well when a change is in order and you want to throw in bananas or some other tasty addition! A must for any kitchen!

Absolutely fantastic and easy to make! I omitted the salt because of prior reviews. I made this recipe for my children and one of their friends and they devoured them!! Even without the usual cinnamon I add to my waffle batter, this was the best recipe I’ve tried and will use this one from now on!!

These waffles came out with the perfect texture. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The kids found them a little hard to cut through but it wasn’t a big deal. Apparently it was fine because they inhaled 11 of them in about 10 minutes ( my 2 girls and 2 neices). They were a little lacking in flavor so I will try a little extra vanilla and sugar next time or maybe some maple flavor. Thanks for this recipe.

I made these waffles, but they are a little on the bland side. Even though I added two extra tablespoons of sugar, cinnamon and an extra teaspoon of vanilla, it still wasn’t very tasty. However, I would suggest adding maybe a 1/2 cup of flour, two teaspoons of vanilla and maybe a 1/4 to 1/3 cup of sugar.

These were good waffles. I might be a bit too picky. I added 1/2 cup more flour, cut back the salt, added cinnamon, and I separated the egg whites, fluffed the whites and them folded them in at the end. My children loved it and I loved the way this recipe was easy to work with.

I used this recipe for the 1st time a week ago for my family and i, and my 11 month old who HATES frozen waffles, LOVED these fresh homemade waffles. I’ve made this 2 more times this week, adding some mashed banana and extra vanilla for an extra sweet kick. Great recipe! Thank you thank you!!

So simple, but so good. Waffles are big in my house, and we were looking for a “classic” recipe to test out our new waffle iron. This one was a huge hit with adults and kids alike. Cooked up quickly, crispy but not oversly so, with an excellent flavor compliments of the warmed milk and vanilla.

Great recipe! I made our waffles with half spelt flour and half white flour. I also made them dairy free and substituted warm soy milk and melted vegan butter (Earth Balance). They came out great! I’ve had such problems making a dairy-free waffle and was very pleasantly surprised. I also used powdered sugar instead of white (as I didn’t have any) and added an equal amt of cocoa powder to give it a little chocolate-y taste.

These are so good!!! Way better than the ones you buy at the store. I made 32 of them and have them in the freezer. We had them with stewed blueberries and whip cream but they are good with just a bit of margarine and some syrup. Thanks for the recipe. I am from Nova Scotia, Canada

The first time I made these, they were a little bland. I added 1t of cinnamon and used real butter this time, and they were outstanding. Crispy, light, and full of flavor. The best waffles I’ve made 🙂 They stay crispier if you pull them to one plate to cool slightly, then move them to another. The steam condenses on the first plate. I made them with home fries…yum!

My family LOVES these. The only things I changed on this recipe was that I added 1 more teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 more tablespoon of white sugar. They are VERY good, VERY filling, and VERY easy and quick to make for breakfast in the morning. Sometimes I don’t put anything on the waffle because they just taste so delicious by themselves! Yum! =D

So good! I made these this morning for my daughter, while my husband is out of town and boy did he miss out! These were great. To make them a little healthier, I used skim milk and a butter subsituite that has no trans fat. They still came out great. Next time, I will use the suggestion of using 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour so that they are even more healthier. I will also vacum seal and freeze the extra, Thanks Megan!

Really tasty, but I did add a few things. First of all I doubled the recipe & added 1tsp. cinnamon & 3/4 tsp. nutmeg, I also added just under a 1/4 cup each of wheat bran & wheat germ & finally a 1/2 cup orange juice.
Just before closing the lid I added a few blueberries. Enjoyed by all 🙂 -
