- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed
- 1 red onion, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced

- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (Optional)
- 1 tablespoon toasted pine nuts (Optional)
Directions
Step 1
Melt butter with olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat; add asparagus and red onion to mixture, season with salt, and cook until onion begins to soften, about 5 minutes. Stir red bell pepper into mixture and continue cooking until onions begin to caramelize, another 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add vinegar, Parmesan cheese, sesame seeds, and pine nuts; toss to combine.
Tips
For milder flavors, substitute mozzarella cheese and use less vinegar.
