This recipe may seem like it has strange ingredients, but they amazingly taste great together! We always have this Watergate salad with Christmas dinner, and it’s a big hit with kids and adults alike!

Ingredients

  • 1 (3 ounce) package lime-flavored gelatin mix (such as Jell-O®)
  • ¾ cup boiling water
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • ¾ cup chopped cucumber
  • 2 tablespoons grated onion

Directions

Step 1
Dissolve gelatin mix into boiling water; stir well and put in the refrigerator until slightly firm, about 4 hours.

Step 2
Stir in mayonnaise and sour cream. Fold in cottage cheese, cucumber, and onion. Transfer to a serving bowl and chill until set, about 4 hours more.
