I make these tea-time cookies for holiday parties and special occasions. Everyone really enjoys them. They are one of my family’s favorite treats!
Ingredients
Crust
- 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
Filling
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 1/3 cups chopped walnuts
Directions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
Step 2
To make the crust: Beat softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup butter together in a large bowl. Stir in flour and mix to form a smooth dough.
Step 3
Shape dough into 24 1-inch balls, then press into the bottoms and up the sides of ungreased mini muffin cups.
Step 4
To make filling: Beat sugar, egg, 1 tablespoon butter, vanilla, and salt together until smooth; stir in walnuts. Spoon mixture into each crust.
Step 5
Bake in the preheated oven until crust is golden and filling is set, about 25 minutes.
