Stuffed French Toast

Stuffed French Toast

Stuffed French toast makes a nice change from ordinary French toast. This recipe is my family’s favorite version, but it is very versatile. Substitute peanut butter for the cream cheese, use different jams or preserves, different extracts or spices — the options are practically limitless! Serve with maple syrup and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

?Loved the simple idea and taste of the batter,? says Stacey Bauer. ?The almond extract gave it a great flavor — I will definitely use it in my French toast batter from now on. I used a loaf of brioche bread and also a Bumbleberry jam (strawberry, blueberry, and raspberry).?

?I used coconut extract instead of almond extract and blackberry spread instead of the raspberry,? according to Alli Tatton. ?I loved the middle! I also added cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice to the egg mixture.?

?I LOVED how easy and fast this was,? raves Heather. ?I got up to make french toast and decided to see how hard it would be to make stuffed. It saved me like 30 minutes in front of the griddle for my family of 7!?
