Loquats are a yummy small fruit with the flavors of mango and peach. They are hard to find in the grocery stores. The best places to find them are at a farmer’s market or else a friend with a tree! Great over chicken and fish.

Ingredients

  • 20 fresh loquats – seeded, blossom ends removed, and diced
  • 5 large strawberries, hulled and diced
  • 2/3 cup diced red onion
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced – or to taste
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Directions

Step 1
Mix loquats, strawberries, red onion, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, jalapeno pepper, salt, and black pepper in a bowl. Refrigerate salsa several hours before serving.
