This was a recipe I learned while living in Spain in the late 1970s. It’s still one of my favorites.
Ingredients
- 1 (750 milliliter) bottle Shiraz red wine
- ½ cup white sugar
- ½ cup vodka
- ½ cup gin
- ½ cup rum
- ½ cup tequila
- 1 medium orange, halved and sliced
- 1 medium lemon, juiced
- 1 liter ginger ale
Directions
Step 1
Mix wine with sugar in a bowl to dissolve. Add vodka, gin, rum, and tequila.
Step 2
Cut orange and lemon in half, then into slices. Stir into sangria. Refrigerate for 8 hours, or overnight.
Step 3
Add ginger ale. Serve over a lot of ice.
Cook’s Note:
You may add other fruits, or subtract… at least one!
