I think this fish dip recipe is world-class and puts most others to shame! It is served in several prominent restaurants on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Serve with crackers, lemon or lime wedges, and capers.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flaked smoked whitefish
  • 4 tablespoons fat-free sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons fat-free mayonnaise
  • 4 drops hot pepper sauce, or to taste
  • 3 drops Worcestershire sauce, or to taste
  • 3 drops liquid smoke flavoring (Optional)
  • 1 pinch seafood seasoning, such as Old Bay
  • cracked black pepper to taste

Directions

Step 1
Place whitefish, sour cream, and mayonnaise in the bowl of a food processor; season with hot pepper sauce, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, seafood seasoning, and cracked black pepper. Blend until combined with a spread-like consistency.

Tips

We use well-boned smoked whitefish, but any other smoked fish should work.
