Be warned that this pumpkin smoothie recipe is for pumpkin lovers only! My 5-year-old and 1-year-old love this recipe as written. For a hot drink, use room temperature pumpkin pur?e (instead of frozen) and heat everything through on the stovetop.
Ingredients
- 16 ounces frozen pumpkin puree
- 2 cups milk
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Directions
Step 1
Place frozen pumpkin pur?e into a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave on high to soften, 1 to 2 minutes.
Step 2
Pour milk into a blender. Add softened pumpkin pur?e, brown sugar, and cinnamon; blend until smooth.
Tips
To freeze pumpkin pur?e, spoon it into a resealable bag and store in the freezer for at least 24 hours. I use homemade pumpkin pur?e that I make each autumn and freeze in 2-cup increments — but canned, solid-pack pumpkin should work just fine.
