Pineapple Brown Sugar Glazed Ham

I created this ham recipe by spinning several others into one. The crushed pineapple and brown sugar glaze is delicious. It’s now requested for each holiday meal!

Ingredients

  • 1 (6 pound) fully-cooked, bone-in ham
  • 1 (8 ounce) can pineapple rings
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans pineapple juice
  • 2 cups brown sugar, divided
  • 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).

Step 2
Place ham, cut-side down, into a roasting pan. Pin pineapple slices onto ham using toothpicks.

Step 3
Bake ham in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Step 4
Meanwhile, mix pineapple juice and 1 1/2 cup brown sugar together in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Cook until glaze is slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat but keep warm.

Step 5
After 30 minutes, pour some glaze over ham; bake for 30 more minutes. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar over ham, then pour more glaze over top. Bake until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center reads at least 140 degrees F (60 degrees C), about 30 more minutes.

Step 6
Remove from the oven and pour any remaining glaze over top.

Tips

The pineapple slices on top of the ham are fun kids' snacks. Leftovers make great sandwiches!
