Microwave Baked Apples

Make baked apples in the microwave with this quick-and-easy recipe. Great for brunch or a snack. Stuff the apples with any additional fruits that you wish — cranberries stuffed into apples are especially delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 firm apples, such as Golden Delicious or Granny Smith
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg, or to taste
  • 2 teaspoons butter

Directions

Step 1
Core apples, leaving the bottom intact.

Step 2
Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg together in a bowl. Spoon half of the sugar mixture into each apple.

Step 3
Put 1 teaspoon butter on each top and place apples in a deep, microwave-safe casserole dish and cover.

Step 4
Microwave until tender, 3 ½ to 4 minutes. Let apples sit for 2 minutes before serving.
