Homemade Croutons

Homemade croutons are great to make for your salads, etc. When you make your own, you know what goes into it and are proud of your accomplishment. You can also add your favorite flavorings. Serve in soups or salads.

Ingredients

  • 15 slices stale bread
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Step 2
Slice off crusts from stale bread slices. Brush bread on both sides with melted butter. Cut bread slices into small cubes. Sprinkle with garlic salt. Arrange cubes on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Step 3
Bake in the preheated oven until browned, about 15 minutes. Let cool completely, then store in a covered container or plastic bag.
