In these guacamole burgers, taste a cheeseburger with a Southwestern citrus twist.
Ingredients
Guacamole
- 2 avocados – halved, peeled, and pitted
- ½ cup diced tomatoes
- ¼ cup minced onion
- 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
- ½ lime, juiced
- 1 ½ teaspoons minced garlic
- ¼ teaspoon salt to taste
Burgers
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- ½ cup diced onion
- ½ cup chopped cilantro
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- ½ lime, juiced
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 6 slices Monterey Jack cheese
- 6 hamburger buns, split and toasted
Directions
Step 1
Preheat an outdoor grill to medium heat.
Step 2
Make the guacamole: Mash avocado, tomatoes, onion, jalape?o, lime juice, garlic, and salt together in a medium bowl.
Step 3
Make the burgers: Mix ground beef, onion, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, and chili powder together in a large bowl. Form meat into 6 patties.
Step 4
Cook burgers on the preheated grill to desired doneness. Add a slice of cheese to each burger during the last minute of cooking.
Step 5
Serve on toasted buns with a dollop of guacamole.
