Grandma's Hot Hominy

This is a great white hominy recipe for a holiday side dish. Grandma always served this with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Goes well with turkey and dressing.

Ingredients

  • 1 (20 ounce) can white hominy
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped jalapeno pepper, or to taste
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter, or to taste
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Step 2
Combine hominy, garlic, and jalape?o in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until hominy is tender, 15 to 20 minutes. Strain out liquid and pour hominy mixture into a baking dish. Stir sour cream and butter into hominy mixture; top with Cheddar cheese.

Step 3
Bake in the preheated oven until cheese melts, about 25 minutes.
