A mild sweet, super smooth pasta sauce that has become a family favorite! Makes a great sauce for meatballs. I recommend adding them and letting the entire pot simmer and meld. And remember, the bay leaf is lucky!
Ingredients
- 1 (46 fluid ounce) can tomato juice
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- ¾ teaspoon dried basil
- ½ teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1 bay leaf
- ¾ teaspoon salt
Directions
Step 1
Combine tomato juice, tomato paste, brown sugar, garlic, oregano, basil, marjoram, bay leaf, and salt in a large pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and cover. Simmer until thickened, about 45 minutes.
