After scouring the Internet in search of an extra-special cocktail for our Willy Wonka-themed backyard movie party, it became apparent that I would have to step into my cocktail laboratory and invent my own. After many back-breaking hours spent calibrating specimens which were analyzed by my friends, I came up with this recipe that I’m confident even Willy Wonka himself would be proud to call The Fizzy Lifting Drink. Warning: This drink may cause mischievous behavior.

Ingredients

  • 3 fluid ounces bubblegum-flavored vodka
  • 1 fluid ounce sweet and sour mix
  • ½ fluid ounce vanilla vodka
  • ½ fluid ounce strawberry vodka
  • 1 dash maraschino cherry juice
  • 2 fluid ounces dry champagne

Directions

Step 1
Pour the bubble gum vodka, sweet and sour mix, vanilla vodka, strawberry vodka, and maraschino cherry juice into a cocktail shaker over ice. Cover, and shake until the outside of the shaker has frosted. Strain into two chilled glass, and top with champagne to serve.

Cook’s Note

Marinate at least 20 pieces Dubble Bubble or similar bubble gum in a large bottle of vodka for several days or longer until pink and tastes like bubble gum.
