Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup chopped onion
- ½ cup chopped green bell pepper
- 2 ½ tablespoons chili powder
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 (29 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 4 teaspoons finely chopped jalapeno chile peppers
- 1 (16 ounce) can chili beans, undrained
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Step 1
Combine ground beef, onion, and bell pepper in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook and stir until beef is browned, about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
Step 2
Season with chili powder, garlic, cumin, and bay leaf. Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, and jalape?os.
Step 3
Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 1 1/2 hours.
Step 4
Stir in beans and allow to heat through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
