Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup white sugar

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).

Step 2
Combine 3 tablespoons white sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and set aside.

Step 3
Blend brown sugar and 1/2 cup white sugar in a large bowl with a mixer on medium speed. Add butter and blend until grainy. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until light and fluffy.

Step 4
Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt together in a separate bowl. Add to butter-sugar mixture, mixing at low speed just long enough to combine. Overmixing makes tough cookies.

Step 5
Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball into cinnamon sugar to coat. Place cookies on ungreased cookie sheets

Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes. Remove from sheets and let cool on racks.
