Since the substitutes vary in strength, use an amount equal to 3/4 cup regular sugar according to the package. To make the cookies completely sugar free, be sure to use chocolate chips made with a sugar substitute. These cookies freeze well.
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated artificial sweetener
- 2 tablespoons water
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 1/8 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup chopped pecans
Directions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Step 2
In a medium bowl, cream together butter and sugar substitute. Mix in water, vanilla, and egg.
Step 3
Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Mix in the chocolate chips and pecans.
Step 4
Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets.
Step 5
Bake in the preheated oven 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from the cookie sheets to cool on wire racks.
