These brandy balls are an excellent dessert to bring for the holidays. You can use either brandy or rum. These do need some time to set up so it is best to make them the night before. If you don’t care for walnuts, the balls can be rolled in confectioners’ sugar or cocoa powder.
Ingredients
- 1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup brandy
- 1 (16 ounce) package vanilla wafers, crushed very fine
- 2 cups finely chopped walnuts
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar for rolling
Directions
Step 1
In the microwave or in a metal bowl over a pan of simmering water, melt evaporated milk and chocolate chips, frequently stirring until smooth.
Step 2
Remove from heat and stir in crushed vanilla wafers and brandy until well blended.
Step 3
Roll dough into small balls and roll the balls in chopped walnuts and then in confectioners' sugar. Store covered in the refrigerator.
