This banana nut oatmeal is a warm, filling breakfast cereal with a fruity twist. When my bananas begin to get overly ripe, I peel them and put them in plastic freezer bags. This recipe is great for frozen bananas, but you can also use ripe bananas.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup quick cooking oats
- ½ cup skim milk
- 1 teaspoon flax seeds
- 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 banana, peeled
Directions
Step 1
Combine oats, milk, flax seeds, walnuts, honey, and banana in a microwave-safe bowl. Cook in the microwave on high for 2 minutes. Mash banana with a fork and stir into mixture. Serve hot.
