Fruity cobbler made with fresh or thawed berries and Bisquick. Delicious served warm with vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose baking mix (such as Bisquick)
- ½ cup milk
- 2/3 cup white sugar
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups fresh blackberries
Directions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
Step 2
Whisk baking mix, milk, 1/3 cup sugar, and oil together in a bowl until no large lumps remain. Pour into the prepared baking dish. Whisk water and 2/3 cup sugar in a clean bowl until mixed. Gently fold in berries until evenly coated; spread berry mixture over baking mix batter.
Step 3
Bake in the preheated oven until golden on top and fruit is bubbling, about 45 minutes.
Tips
It might seem like a lot of water but when mixed with the berries and sugar, it turns into a syrup and once cooked, it basically turns into a jelly. If using canned or frozen sweetened fruit, omit the sugar and use juice instead of water.
