A cult-ish favorite among the most serious cocktail aficionados, this pre-prohibition era gin drink is making a comeback. Serve ‘up’ and garnish with a cherry.
Ingredients
- 2 fluid ounces gin
- 1 tablespoon maraschino liqueur
- ¼ fluid ounce lemon juice
- 1 cup ice
- maraschino cherry for garnish
Directions
Step 1
Combine gin, maraschino liqueur, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, cover and shake until chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Step 2
Garnish with maraschino cherry.

Include ¼ oz cr?me de violette to enjoy the original recipe of the drink.
