Ingredients

  • 1 (16 ounce) package angel food cake mix
  • 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, in juice

Directions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Step 2
Combine dry cake mix with crushed pineapple and juice in a large bowl. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds, then beat on medium speed for 1 minute. Pour into an ungreased 10-inch tube pan.

Step 3
Bake in the preheated oven until deep golden brown, 40 to 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and immediately turn upside down to cool, about 2 hours.

Step 4
Run a knife around the edges and turn cooled cake out onto a serving place. Use a serrated knife to cut into slices.

    This was so easy I wasn’t sure it would be so terrific. Definitely will be making this again and adding some shredded coconut for added texture and flavor.
    Great for guests and pot luck.

    Yes, it is easy and delicious. It can also be made with different boxed cake mixes which are frequently on sale and less costly than angel food cake mix. Makes for a denser cake but still yummy!

    6.27.22 Whoa, just doesn?t get much easier than this. Took out of the oven at 40 minutes, inverted it onto a bottle, and as instructed, let it cool for 2 hours. Ran a table knife around the center and edges, turned upside down onto a plate, and it just popped right out, no sticking at all. I could see this with a quick-and-easy blueberry sauce, and as another reviewer mentioned, adding some coconut to the batter just might be another great option. And most importantly, it?s delicious on its own!

    I made this and it was a total flop! Do you use theDRY cake mix, or make the batter and then add pineapple?? I used DRY mix,, and it came out flat. but the recipe says dry???
