10 Slow Cooker Desserts That Go From Prep to Pot in 10 Minutes or Less

Making tapioca pudding in your slow cooker eliminates all the stirring you'd do with classic stovetop versions. For best results, be sure to use the small pearl tapioca specified in the recipe, and beat the eggs before stirring them into the mixture.

Frozen berries are simmered in your slow cooker along with sugar, orange zest, and orange juice, and thickened in the last few minutes with a cornstarch slurry. Use cold water when you make the slurry, and bring the berries up to bubble again after you add the slurry so it can properly thicken.

Try this almost effortless way to make a big batch of candy without a lot of work. You simple layer the ingredients in a slow cooker and let the heat do the rest. After stirring to mix, you'll scoop out spoonfuls to cool and firm up. To customize her batch, Jackie Taylor Loyd sprinkled sea salt over the top while they cooled.

"This is SO good," says Tammy Lynn. "I love how creamy it is. It is just like pumpkin pie with no crust. I added the vanilla with all the ingredients and didn't stir it when it was done. The one big issue is that it was done at 2 hours on low, and it started to burn. There is no way this could cook 6-7 hours. Check this at 2 hours and continue if needed." Every slow cooker is a little different, so be sure to keep an eye on yours.

This slow cooker version of a dump cake couldn't be easier. You simply dump fruit in your slow cooker along with cornstarch, vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Next, you dump in cake mix and melted butter. That's it. Home cook burgundybooks adds, "One hint I saw from another recipe that I think helped with this one is that I put a long strip of paper towels between the lid and the crock pot to catch the cooking condensation – and I changed the towels when they appeared to be getting pretty damp. This helps the crust crisp up and not be soggy."

Brandy-soaked dried cherries add a touch of decadence to this easy bread pudding. To speed up the soaking, you zap the brandy and cherries in your microwave for a brief 30 seconds, and away you go.

Recipe creator MICHMEIG says, "This recipe is amazing. It seems too good to be true, with only four ingredients and almost no preparation involved. I was worried about how this would turn out, but it was a huge hit. This can be altered to your liking by using different pie fillings and different cake mixes." Home cook lutzflcat says, "Slow cookers are like microwaves, cooking temperatures vary widely. Mine was done in about 3 hours, so I would caution you to keep an eye on your cooker so it doesn't burn. The pudding was rich, loaded with vanilla flavor, and very creamy. Although I'm not a huge slow cooker fan, this is one recipe that I would make again."

Your home is going to smell so cozy when you have a slow cooker full of apples and spices simmering away. Overall cook times may vary depending on the kinds of apples you use and the size of the chunks. Home cook Chef Mo comments, "I thought this recipe was really simple with good flavor. I stopped my slow cooker at 3 1/2 hours, but when making this again I think I would try 3 hours. Some of the smaller apples were very soft. Large apples are key to this recipe."
